What is the Bordeaux Cultivons Demain label?

Officially launched in 2022 by the Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux (CIVB), Bordeaux Cultivons Demain is a sector-wide CSR label co-constructed with all players in the wine industry. It has a threefold objective:

  • To structure responsible approaches within wine companie
  • To provide a clear and demanding framework for CSR commitment
  • To promote virtuous practices among the general public and professiona

The label is based on 5 fundamental pillars:
– Responsible governance
– Preservation of resources
– Development of men and women
– Local roots
– Responsible production and consumption

Each year, the independent organisation Bureau Veritas Certification carries out a compliance audit on a sample of labelled companies, guaranteeing that the audit process is rigorous and in line with the ISO 26000 standard, the international benchmark for CSR.

Why is this label important for Saint-Émilion Wines?

The winegrowers of Saint-Émilion, who are deeply attached to their terroir and their community, are naturally concerned by this initiative. By joining the Growing Tomorrow initiative, they are affirming their commitment to :

  • Reduce their environmental impact at every stage of wine production,
  • Enhance the well-being and training of their teams,
  • Play an active role in the economic and social vitality of the region,
  • Meet the growing expectations of consumers in search of meaning, transparency and quality.

It’s a logical extension of the many initiatives already in place in our vineyards to promote sustainable viticulture, biodiversity and respect for human and natural balances.
