The actress was indeed inducted to the Jurade of Saint-Emilion in 1996. Since then, she has remained true to the values of the jurats, made of solidarity and conviviality. Meet a friend of Saint-Emilion.
PÉDALE DOUCE AND SAINT-EMILION
For actors, promotional tours of a film are often an opportunity to discover the wealth of the regions traversed. For Michèle Laroque, Saint-Emilion was not a thoroughfare. It has become a land of friendship. The story between the actress and Saint-Emilion wines goes back nearly 20 years: “In 1996, we were on tour for Pédale Douce and the distributor brought us to Saint-Emilion”, she recalls, “He knew everyone and all the wines. We discovered, in one go, the best Saint-Emilion wines”.
INDUCTED TO THE JURADE OF SAINT-EMILION
Michèle Laroque says she has “a lot” of good memories in Saint-Emilion. And to quote a wine and food pairing dinner at Château Angélus, “Absolutely delicious”. Her induction to the Jurade of Saint-Emilion in 1996 is one of the strong moments lived in the vineyard. She has also become a fervent ambassador: “I drink Saint-Emilion wines and it’s true that I want to talk about it. It is a unique place in the world, with a very special energy and wine that is produced there is exceptional”.
“SAINT-EMILION IS A LITTLE MAGICAL”
A Saint Emilion wine enthusiast, Michèle Laroque likes to stroll among vineyards and old stones: “Every time I come here, I have a sense of well-being. This is somewhat a magical region, I like the vineyards, I like these landscapes”. The actress also feels close to the men and women of the Jurisdiction de Saint-Emilion: “When I exchange with the owners of the Châteaux, I absolutely find myself in them”, she says, “Every year it’s the questioning, the anxieties, the joys and the continuing research. A producer, an actor or a director speaks exactly the same way about the film they are going to make”.
