Château Balestard La Tonnelle is the second highest property in the village of Saint-Emilion, located on the Argilo-limestone plateau of the appellation.Extended on 10.5 hectares of vineyards, the grasp of the estate is dominated by the presence of Merlot (64%), supplemented by Cabernet Franc (11%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (25%). THROUGHOUT HISTORY The vineyard was founded in the 15th century by François Balestard, canon of the village church.Bought in 1923 by the Capdemourlin family, owners in Saint-Emilion since 1647, it is today the 12th and 13th generation that run the premises. Today, Château Balestard La Tonnelle continues its ascent among the essential names of Saint-Émilion, and offers visits, tastings and events in its brand new bioclimatic architect building.Several thousand visitors go to the property every year to discover the incredible panoramic terrace and meet the family.
