Practical information
Located east of the hill of Saint-Émilion, the property houses a superb castle whose buildings surrounding the courtyard were erected in the 17th century by Benedictine monks. These served as a farm and a monastery for religious order and were also used as summer residence by the canons of Saint-Émilion. The situation of the castle owes nothing to chance because the congregation decided to establish itself close to a stream: Cantin (from Latin Cantio: song, song). It was in 2007 that the Helfrich family, at the head of the group Les Grands Chais de France, became a title farmer of the castle. His ambition, reconnecting with the prestigious past of property, has now become a reality.
