From 1st to 3rd may 2015
COME AND RELAX AT CHÂTEAU LA VAISINERIE DURING THE SAINT-EMILION PORTES OUVERTES, FROM 1ST TO 3RD MAY 2015.
Tasting a Puisseguin Saint-Emilion appellation wine, in the middle of lush green park, in the shade of a seventeenth century building: difficult to imagine a more idyllic setting!
At Château La Vaisinerie, the Saint-Emilion Portes Ouvertes are always a highly anticipated event, “These are true moments of exchange. People come here as much to enjoy the wine as to visit the estate and meet those who make the wine. This is done in a friendly manner”, says Bernard Bessede, head of Château La Vaisinerie.
A retired wine merchant who is in love with Saint-Emilion, he particularly appreciates the principle of the Saint-Emilion Portes Ouvertes: “It’s party time for both the producer and the visitor. People are relaxed, they pass by from one estate to another to discover Saint-Emilion wines”.
As part of the Saint-Emilion Portes Ouvertes, Bernard Bessede warmly invites you to discover his estate. This beautiful complex was built in two stages, in 1685 and in 1718 before being completely renovated in 2004. “During the visit, we present the differences in style between the two periods of construction”. The visitors can also walk around in the park:
“We wanted to combine the quality of the building and the park with the quality of a vineyard. My wife has a passion for parks and gardens, she has landscaped it to her taste”. In this park you can admire a vintage car collection and a figurative paintings exhibition. Please note that a winemaker meal will take place, upon reservation.
The Saint-Emilion Portes Ouvertes are first of all an opportunity to taste the 2014 vintage in the process of development but also to taste the other wines of the estate. At Château La Vaisinerie, Merlot is the king cépage, “We are almost a ‘one-varitey’ estate because our wines are made of 91% Merlot and 9% Cabernet Franc”, says Bernard Bessede. In 2012, this combination has produced a wine that was “very silky on the palate and very pleasant to drink when young”. In 2013, Bernard Bessede emphasizes, “Fruity and almond notes in a slightly more full-bodied wine than in 2012”.
And how is the 2014 vintage? “2014 will be a great year, we harvested in optimal conditions and we’re going to put out an intense wine, ample, with a deep color, a very good presence in the mouth and an especially a long finish”.
Want to taste these vintages directly at the estate? Visit the Saint-Emilion Portes Ouvertes on 1st, 2nd and 3rd May 2015!
