3 days of events

Six tasting areas were be deployed around the city to celebrate the wines of Saint-Emilion : Moat of the Palais Cardinal, Parc Guadet, Place Bouqueyre, Place du Chapitre et des Jacobins, Place Pierre Meyrat in the gardens of the Logis de Malet and in the collegial church’s cloister.

Welcomed by winegrowers and sommeliers, the public was tasted different wines from a booklet of 7 tastings and partners tickets.

The tasting booklet included :

• 1 tasting glass and its case,
• 7 tastings (5cl doses): 1 Lussac Saint-Emilion, 1 Puisseguin Saint-Emilion, 1 Saint-Emilion, 2 Saint-Emilion Grands Crus, 1 Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé, 1 special 20 years old cuvée offered by the Union de Producteurs de Saint-Emilion
• 1 Saint-Emilion macaroon,
• 1 bottle of water in the image of the event,
• 1 10% discount ticket to the Maison du Vin de Saint-Emilion for purchases of 50€ or more,
• 1 10% discount ticket at Etablissements Martin and La Grande Cave in Saint-Emilion,
• 1 magazine Terre de Vins, partner of the event.

The visitor was discovered the exceptional cultural landscapes of the Jurisdiction of Saint-Emilion through the 20 exceptional points of view from the reading tables created as part of the 20th anniversary.

A stage was be set up in the heart of the moat of the Palais Cardinal and was hosted two free concerts on Saturday 29th of June,  proposed by the Saint-Emilion Jazz Festival.

20H00 - BRASS UNDER INFLUENCE

Born of the friendship between Sébastien "iep" Arruti (Trombonist and Band Leader) and Pierre Cherbero (Grand Marshal) and their love for New Orleans, Brass Under Influence is in line with the Brass Bands of "The Big Easy", the nickname given to the city of New Orleans. Originally a tribute to Craig Klein's New Orleans Nightcrawlers, the Brass Under Influence repertoire is made up of current funky rhythms and traditional second lines.

Oakland

Oakland is the meeting of a collective of musicians from Bordeaux who wish to pay tribute to the mythical Californian band of the 70s, Tower of Power, which is still in operation. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of their elders, Oakland was offered you a repertoire retracing the evolution of this legendary American soul/funk band.

Musicians : Wilfried Deurre (Lead vocal & background), Adeline Ouvrard (Lead vocal & background), Isabelle Ouvrard (Lead vocal & background), Stephane Mazurier (Keys), Nicolas Veysseyre (Bass & background), Mickey Fourcade (Drums), François-Marie Moreau (Tenor Sax & background), Bertrand Tessier (Tenor Sax), Cyril Dumeaux (Baritone Sax), Franck Vogler (Trumpet) et Pascal Drapeau (Trumpet)

The exhibition "Sailing Wines, a Bordeaux History", made available by Bordeaux Grands Evénements, will retrace the great moments in the history of Bordeaux wines.

A music band wandering around was animated the different places of the Medieval City: cloister, streets, City Hall gardens, etc.

A concert and tasting was be organised at Château Monlot to enjoy a jazz group before tasting the wines of the property!

In addition to the Châteaux Open Doors during the weekend, the appellations of Lussac Saint-Emilion and Puisseguin Saint-Emilion was joined the celebration on a day of festivities over the weekend.
