Château Teyssier is a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru which was created at the beginning of the 18th century. Today, this Château represents more than 60 hectares in Saint-Emilion and the surrounding appellation. A giant of the right bank when one knows that the average surface of a Château is 5 hectares. To maintain these precious terroirs is a round-the-clock job, every day of the year. From pruning the vines on a bleak, frosty winter’s day to getting up at the crack of dawn to harvest the grapes, there’s never a dull moment and always plenty to be getting along with! The vineyard takes a huge amount of care but the fact that as soon as one harvest is in the vats we’re already preparing the next is proof of our dedication to the work we do.

Driven by a thirst for a style of wine more appealing to modern consumers and with no boundaries other than my own vision, I found my place in the ‘garagiste’ movement which was giving a new awakening to Saint-Emilion at the time. By realising and then uncovering the potential of the prized vineyard that is ‘Le Dôme’, I created what no-one else dared to imagine. And now, with every vintage consistently equalling and frequently exceeding chateaux with hundreds of years of experience, Le Dôme has joined the club of the most sought-after wines in the region and my once ‘avant-gardiste’ techniques are being adopted across the whole of Bordeaux and beyond.
