An emblematic event dedicated to tradition and sharing.
Every 3rd Sunday in June, the Jurade de Saint-Émilion invites lovers of fine wines, celebrities from the worlds of culture, art and sport, as well as its loyal partners, to celebrate this not-to-be-missed Jurade’s event that punctuates our year. Each year, in the heritage and natural setting of our UNESCO-listed medieval town, this day celebrates the promising flowers that will give birth to grapes of the highest quality, worthy of the wines of Saint-Emilion. Here’s a look back at the latest edition of the Spring Festival, held in Saint-Emilion on June, Sunday 15th, 2025!
At the heart of this 2025 edition, the solemn induction ceremony saw new members join the ranks of the Jurade: a total of 25 new dignitaries of the Jurade de Saint-Emilion were inducted. Among them were a number of prominent figures who were elevated to the titles of Winegrower of Honour and Burgher of Saint-Émilion (Vigneron d’Honneur and Bourgeois de Saint-Émilion), Prud’homme de la Jurade or Lady of the Jurade (Dame de la Jurade), perpetuating the values of conviviality, culture and transmission.
In the morning, the procession went to the Collegiate Church of Saint-Emilion for the traditional mass, before finishing in the Monolithic Church of Saint-Emilion, where the inductions took place.
These highly emotional inductions are a reminder of the Jurade’s deep-seated commitment to promoting and defending the wines of our appellation in every corner of the globe.
Among the inductees we find :
Raphaël Personnaz, a renowned actor who has won awards for his film and theatre career, and is now Vigneron d’Honneur and Bourgeois de Saint-Émilion.
Patrick Mille and Matthieu Delaporte, key figures in French cinema and theatre, who were recently honoured for the film The Count of Monte Cristo (Le Comte de Monte Cristo), Patrick Mille as actor and Matthieu Delaporte as co-director. They have also been awarded the titles of ‘Vigneron d’Honneur and Bourgeois de Saint-Émilion’.
Raí Souza Vieira de Oliveira, Brazilian football player icon and committed philanthropist, has now been elevated to the rank of Vigneron d’Honneur et Bourgeois de Saint-Émilion.
Leading figures from the worlds of business, gastronomy, diplomacy and wine from China, Denmark, Malta, French Polynesia, Canada and Ireland symbolise the universal aura of Saint-Émilion.
And because a Jurade Chapter wouldn’t be a real Chapter without its meal, let’s take a look at the wine list!
For this latest Jurade de Saint-Emilion lunch, 12 wines have been selected to accompany this delicious meal prepared by Humblot Traiteur, proudly representing the 4 appellations of the Saint-Emilion vineyards:
Through this 2025 Spring Festival, the Jurade de Saint-Émilion is reaffirming, year after year, its mission to bring to life and promote a winegrowing heritage unique in the world. With its age-old traditions and openness to the world, the Jurade brings together, unites and inspires those who share a love of wine, the land and the fine art of living.
