More than 60 wines from Saint-Emilion – Pomerol – Fronsac and 10,400 wine tastings were served over 4 days in Parc de Bruxelles at the 8th edition of the “Eat! BRUSSELS, Drink! BORDEAUX” food festival, i.e., 20% more than in 2018!
Created in 2012 as part of the year of gastronomy in Brussels, the eat! BRUSSELS, drink! BORDEAUX festival has become an autumn mainstay event promoting the rich culinary diversity represented in the European capital city.
For six years, the festival has forged a special partnership with Bordeaux wines. This year, from Thursday, 5 to Sunday, 9 September, the festival invited some 30 Brussels chefs to showcase the delicacy of their creations to guests.
Brussels-based pastry chefs and cheesemakers also offered tastings of delicious desserts and their best artisanal products.
Last but not least, 55 winegrowers and merchants from Bordeaux presented their vintages paired with the food created by the Brussels chefs.
The event was a resounding success, with an increase of about 20% from 2018. The Saint-Emilion – Pomerol – Fronsac pavilion served 10,400 tastings to guests who are always eager for information and discussion.
It was a truly friendly experience that once again strengthened the ties between Bordeaux appellations and Belgian consumers.
This partnership will be highlighted again next year when Brussels will be the guest city at the upcoming Bordeaux Wine Festival from 18 to 21 June 2020.
