A jazz icon, Dee Dee Bridgewater is a huge wine enthusiast, particularly when it comes to Saint-Emilion wines.
This artist is a bit like them, full of grace, strength and sensitivity.
Stage woman, Dee Dee Bridgewater never misses a chance to stop by Bordeaux or Saint-Emilion. Her magical tone of voice had overwhelmed the spectators at the Saint-Emilion Jazz Festival in 2012. In 2014, the singer charmed Bordeaux Fête le Vin’s visitors.
When she left the stage, she confessed to us to seeing so many similarities between her music and the Saint-Emilion appellations: “as with a good wine, jazz gets better through the years”. Radiant, Dee Dee Bridgewater takes a moment to draw parallels between Saint-Emilion winemakers’ work and the origins of her vocal jazz: “jazz comes from slaves who were brought to the United-States and who worked the land”. In a similar way, “wines come from the soil and grapes” Dee Dee Bridgewater explains.
Seeing her talking pleasurably about Saint-Emilion wines, no doubt that this big name of jazz is an exceptional wine ambassador.
