“This is an important moment because the mark given will allow us to position ourselves at the time of sales in June. The only question is how our wines will be perceived.”

The marks will be unveiled in the coming weeks and will allow merchants to buy the best Saint-Emilion-Pomerol-Fronsac wines with 10 to 30% savings compared to the châteaux sales prices.

“It makes us more composed to continue making the current wine and work for the future. The marks account for 95% of future sales. They also allow a regular income until the wines are bottled. Also, my wine can continue to gain value once in the market. “

2016 SAINT-EMILION VINTAGE: THE EAGERLY-AWAITED "RED GOLD"

The weather was once again very mild in 2016. “What is rare enough to highlight it is to have two great vintages that follow each other,” says Philippe Raymond, technical director of the Saint-Emilion Wine Council (CVSE). “We had, at the right time, the climatic element that made the grapes go from very good to excellent. This quality of grapes has rarely been achieved”.

The 2016 vintage is eagerly awaited, already on social networks and specialized websites.

“We have products that have already left traces in the minds. With these primeurs, we want to validate all the a priori through tasting and through experience. “

Philippe Raymond, technical director of CVSE

Great moments of tasting are awaited in the quiet of the Dominicans Room, where professionals will be able to taste in peace almost 400 wines. The wines from the Pomerol appellation will be tasted at the Maison des vins in Pomerol.

“The 2016 vintage is a little fresher than the 2015. More acidity, a beautiful complexity, an extraordinary fineness and delicacy that is found in tannins. Not to mention the strong keeping potential. Everything you love about Bordeaux wine“!

Philippe Raymond, technical director of CVSE

“This year, we know that we have red gold in our hands“, says Philippe Raymond. Wines that consumers around the world can enjoy next year.
