Prepare your visit

  • Visits: Discover the different types of visits offered by the Châteaux: historical visit of the winery, guided tour of the vineyards, visit for children, bike tour, visit of troglodyte cellars…
  • Tasting: discover the properties open for tasting. Some Châteaux offer tastings with food and wine pairings to let you discover all the aromas of their vintages combined with dishes from local producers or exotic delicacies!
  • Gastronomy: take a seat at the estate table and sample the dishes on the menu! Some of Saint-Emilion’s Châteaux have a restaurant area or offer picnic baskets so you can eat while visiting the vineyards.
  • Accommodation: what better way to experience Saint-Emilion than to spend a night (or several) in the vineyards? In a room in an 18th-century Château, in an unusual cabin in the middle of the vines, high up on the edge of a vineyard plot… Discover the properties that welcome you for a night in the heart of the vineyard.

A must in the Bordeaux vineyards

Are you in Bordeaux or planning a trip there? Then plan at least one day to visit the Saint-Emilion vineyards!
Just 45 minutes by car from Bordeaux via the N89, or by train from Bordeaux St Jean station directly to St Emilion station, the medieval town is easily accessible whether you have a car or not.

On site, you can easily rent electric bikes or scooters to visit the vineyards, enjoy the beauty of the cultural landscapes and go from property to property.

Whether you’re a connoisseur of Saint-Emilion wines or just curious to find out more about the 1st vineyard to be listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Saint-Emilion has so much to offer!

Don’t wait for the Saint-Emilion Open House on the first weekend in May to discover the vineyard. Throughout the year, the Châteaux welcome you to discover their crus, share their know-how and talk with you during a tour of the estate…

Introduction to wine tasting at the Saint-Emilion House of Wine

At the Saint-Emilion House of Wine (Maison du Vin de Saint-Emilion), not only can you take advantage of property prices on over 400 references of Saint-Emilion wines, but you can also book an introductory tasting session with a presentation of the vineyard!

These workshops are available on request throughout the year, and can be booked freely from July to October.
