A stage was be set up in the heart of the moat of the Palais Cardinal and was hosted two free concerts on Saturday 29th of June,  proposed by the Saint-Emilion Jazz Festival.

20H00 - BRASS UNDER INFLUENCE

Born of the friendship between Sébastien "iep" Arruti (Trombonist and Band Leader) and Pierre Cherbero (Grand Marshal) and their love for New Orleans, Brass Under Influence is in line with the Brass Bands of "The Big Easy", the nickname given to the city of New Orleans. Originally a tribute to Craig Klein's New Orleans Nightcrawlers, the Brass Under Influence repertoire is made up of current funky rhythms and traditional second lines.

The "tétrodon" project was developed by Jacques Berce and Henri Ciriani of the AAU (Bordeaux).

They offer a modular housing based on a 30-foot container whose volume is increased using polyester shells. After several prototypes from 1970 onwards, tetrodons switched to mass production, but in 1973, the first oil shock and its impact on petrochemical-based products put an end to tetrodons, whose total production had reached a small number of thousands, most of which had disappeared. There are a few examples in Darwin (Bordeaux) and one in the Bouches-du-Rhône, which was awarded the "Heritage of the 20th Century" label in 2012.

The copy saved by the Biotope Festival association in order to preserve one of these copies constituting a Gironde heritage is installed in the palus of Saint-Sulpice-de-Faleyrens on private land in order to propose a Biodiversity Observatory.

Located in a wetland area characterized by a great wealth of fauna and flora, it will become a base site for walks to discover the fauna and flora. Fauna and flora are recorded within its walls via educational panels. Its equipment allows night observations to be made. Inside access is only by appointment at the Biotope Festival.

The Hades Archaeological Investigation Office was opened the Madeleine site to all the curious. Accompanied by Natacha SAUVAITRE, archaeologist, interested people was discovered the secrets of this project.

Oakland

Oakland is the meeting of a collective of musicians from Bordeaux who wish to pay tribute to the mythical Californian band of the 70s, Tower of Power, which is still in operation. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of their elders, Oakland was offered you a repertoire retracing the evolution of this legendary American soul/funk band.

The lawns of the Logis de Malet were arranged in a relaxation area punctuated by acoustic jazz concerts performed by the duet Jaza2 and art live performances.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the UNESCO inscription, Christian Naura (painter), Jean-François André (sculptor), Jone and Ben Track (street art artists) proposed the creation of a live work from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

Sunday:

Eric Besson, painter, was honour the 20th anniversary of the UNESCO inscription through the construction of a participatory work.

The works of all the artists were be exhibited inside the Logis de Malet.

The arcades of the Logis de Malet were also host the exhibition of photos of the winners of the competition organized as part of the Montgolfiades de Saint-Emilion for the 20th anniversary.

Theme of the competition: the remarkable sites of the Jurisdiction seen from the sky.

A concert and tasting was be organised at Château Monlot to enjoy a jazz group before tasting the wines of the property!

The exhibition "Sailing Wines, a Bordeaux History", made available by Bordeaux Grands Evénements, will retrace the great moments in the history of Bordeaux wines.

The old school of Saint-Emilion was be transformed in a special place with animations for children: biodiversity workshops (create your own medicinal plant garden, small gestures for the planet, braiding vime...) and a children’s tales place.

An artists’ residency at Château Haut-Sarpe was exposed arts around the 20th anniversary event.
