Every year, during the various Chapters of the Jurade de Saint-Emilion, numerous personalities are inducted during an official ceremony. In June 2024, it was during the Fête de Printemps, on Sunday June 16, that journalist David ABIKER became Honorary Winemaker and Bourgeois of Saint-Emilion in the Monolithic Church of Saint-Emilion.
Journalist at Radio Classique. He hosts the 7 to 8 a.m. news slot, which is very popular with listeners.
In one of his weekly columns in Le Parisien Week-End, he confessed his admiration for those who know how to talk about wine.
After a career in human resources that took him all the way to the Monnaie de Paris, which gave him the opportunity to make a few trips to Pessac for tough negotiations with the CGT des Monnaies et Médailles, he began a career as a journalist and columnist.
He worked for 7 years on the France 5 program Arrêt sur Images, then moved to France Inter, then France Info, then Europe 1, before joining Radio Classique 5 years ago.
As for wine, he prefers to drink it while cooking a good blanquette or boeuf bourguignon for his parents-in-law, who have their second home in Arcachon.
For this 2024 edition of the Jurade’s Spring Festival, over 200 lovers of Saint-Emilion wines came together. From the 4 corners of the world, from our chancelleries, invited by our Jurats and by the Conseil des Vins de Saint-Emilion, they shared this day of conviviality.
Alongside David, 18 other candidates were invited to join the great family of Saint-Emilion wines. Among them, His Excellency André-Magnus EKOUMOU, Ambassador of Cameroon to France and now Pair de la Jurade, and Philippine DELAIRE, humorist, who was named Dame de la Jurade.
La Jurade invites you to join us on the weekend of September 21 & 22, 2024, to celebrate the Ban des Vendanges and the 25th anniversary of the Juridiction’s inscription on the World Heritage List!
