Every year, during the various Chapters of the Jurade de Saint-Emilion, a number of personalities are inducted during an official ceremony. In June 2024, during the Spring Festival on Sunday 16 June, the young comedian Philippine DELAIRE was made Dame de la Jurade in the Monolithic Church of Saint-Emilion.
Philippine Delaire, actress and comedian, is no stranger to the vineyards of Bordeaux, as she is a native of the region. Passionate about cinema from an early age, she began filming her family and friends and editing videos throughout her childhood.
However, she decided to study psychology at Nanterre University. Once she had obtained her degree, Philippine returned to her first love by joining the Cours Florent with a view to a career in the 7th art. At the same time as her training, she made her film debut in Larguées, alongside Miou-Miou, Camille Cottin and Camille Chamoux.
In 2019, she put together her first show, Télédrama, which was due to be performed at the Comédie de Paris in spring 2020, but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. During the confinement, she developed her presence on social networks by posting humorous videos on Instagram. Her second show, entitled Fille à papa! was unveiled on 16 November 2023 and played across France until 4 May 2024.
Alongside her career as a comedian, Philippine Delaire is also a radio commentator. She made her debut on the Europe 1 radio programme Culture médias, with the guests of Thomas Isle. On 9 November 2023, she joined Camille Combal’s team for his new programme Camille & images, broadcast on TF1.
Daughter of Arnaud DELAIRE, Jurat de Saint-Emilion who died in 2013, it was important for the Jurade to honour Philippine in Saint-Emilion on Father’s Day.
More than 200 lovers of Saint-Emilion wines came together for the 2024 edition of the Jurade’s Spring Festival. They came from the 4 corners of the world, from our chancelleries, invited by our Jurats and by the Saint-Emilion Wine Council, to share this convivial day together.
Alongside Philippine, 18 other candidates were invited to join the great family of Saint-Emilion wines. They included His Excellency André-Magnus EKOUMOU, Cameroon’s Ambassador to France and now Pair de la Jurade, and David ABIKER, a journalist with Radio Classique, who was named Vigneron d’Honneur and Bourgeois de Saint-Emilion.
