SAINT-EMILION PORTES OUVERTES 2015: DISCOVER THE PUISSEGUIN SAINT-EMILION APPELLATION!

FROM THE CELLAR OF THE ESTATE TO THE VILLAGE SQUARE, A PROGRAM FULL OF ENCOUNTERS AND TASTE EXPERIENCES AWAIT YOU.
On the occasion of the Saint-Emilion Portes Ouvertes, from 1st to 3rd May 2015, Château Haut-Fayan will celebrate its wines from the Puisseguin Saint-Emilion appellation.
THE EXPERTISE OF A COOPER AND THE ADVICE OF A MASTER SOMMELIER
For Nathalie and Gerard Opérie, owners of Château Haut-Fayan, the Saint-Emilion Portes Ouvertes are an opportunity to “share a passion for the vine and wine“. For this, the couple has planned many events. A cooper craftsman will demonstrate their expertise and explain how
“the heating of the wood plays a role in getting toasted, smoky and licorice notes”. Moreover, during a tasting of “young wines”, a master sommelier will offer fun-filled wine workshops. The participants will use Hélicium glasses specially designed to “provoke the evolution of all the aromas and flavors”.
FROM APPETIZER TO DESSERT, THE GOURMET FOOD AND WINE PAIRINGS
As wine is appreciated all the better over a meal, Nathalie and Gerard Opérie are going to organize two gourmet evenings (upon reservation), which will involve “From the appetizer to dessert, the blind tastings tailored for each dish“. At all times, Gerard Opérie wants, above all, to “offer moments of truth”.
For the Opérie family, the process is as important as the program: “We realized that when you open yourself, when you are real, people give it back to you all the more”. Please note that visits to discover the cellar of Château Haut-Fayan will also be organized throughout the day.
DISCOVER THE SAINT-EMILION APPELLATIONS
Another advantage of the Saint-Emilion Portes Ouvertes is the opportunity to taste the produce of the Opérie family, along with Château Beaulieu Cardinal and L’Or du Temps in Saint-Emilion appellation and Chateau Haut Fayan in Puisseguin Saint-Emilion appellation. Moreover, on Saturday, 2nd May, the entire village of Puisseguin will honor its appellation with a wine bar in the central square. Oenology workshopsand screenings of wine-themed short films will also be on the program.
Gérard Opérie promises that, during these three days: “We will give you the best of ourselves!”
