DISCOVER THE UNDERGROUND CELLARS OF CHÂTEAU LA ROSE BRISSON

At Martine and Jean-François Galhaud’s: “We love to host!” Owners of the Château La Rose Brisson, the Galhauds carry on the traditions of this old estate, founded in Saint-Emilion in 1901:” Hospitality and friendliness have always been the values of our family. My grandfather and my father, before me, did the visits of underground cellars of the family mansion”. The Maison Galhaud has one of the few aging cellars dug in the underground quarries, which offer unique natural air conditioning for the development of the wine in barrels. From the cellars, a tunnel leads directly to the moat of the manor,”a protected place, ideal to picnic with family and friends”.

MEET PASSIONATE WINEMAKERS

For Jean-François Galhaud, the Saint-Emilion Portes Ouvertes are, primarily, “moments of celebrationfriendship and an opportunity to have a good time with all the winemakers of Saint-Emilion”. With his wife, they take advantage of this closeness to the visitors to share their passionpromoting the area and the share the specific know-how involved in the development of their wines: “When I taste a wine, I always try to think of the winemaker and work from the vine, because through a wine there is always a woman, a man, a family that is expressed”.

ENJOY THE MODERN SAINT-EMILION WINES

The Galhaud family has always sought to develop “round wines, flexible, easy to enjoy“. With Château La Rose Brisson and Château Moulin Galhaud in Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Jean-François Galhaud “respects this family tradition” initiated by his grandfather.

His ambition is now to provide “wine adapted to modern consumers for whom the pleasure and conviviality are important“. Mr. and Mrs. Galhaud are convinced that, “the more we greet people in a friendly and open manner, the better it will be for our appellations”.
