On January 31st, 2022, at the end of the Coupe des Crus de Saint-Emilion, 24 crus were named “Coups de Cœur 2022” by a jury of professionals! Château Milens, a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, was one of the winners. Ludovic MARTIN is its manager. Find out more about this winemaker and his wine!
I became co-owner of Château Milens in 2006. Today, I’m the manager.
I’m mainly in charge of tastings and customer canvassing.
At Château Milens, we are aware of the environmental issues that affect our production. We have therefore undertaken actions in favor of Sustainable Development. Thus, in 2019, we committed to the AREA certification “Agriculture Respectueuse de l’Environnement en Nouvelle-Aquitaine”. This is a level 2 High Environmental Value environmental certification.
Our concern is to respect the raw material as much as possible, so we harvest entirely by hand, in small crates containing a single layer of grapes to avoid any settling.
The Château Milens vines are planted on clay, limestone and sand soils with an alios base.
It’s a well-built, well-balanced, gourmet cru.
The 2014 vintage, composed of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, is a fresh wine.
Château Milens goes very well with red meats.
